It is no secret that over the years consumerism has had a negative impact on the environment.

As far as packaging is concerned, these end up in unsuitable destinations for them to be usable or their nature is not sustainable. Taking into account the above in Servibarras we are focusing on generating the means so that the label can be recycled, so that our customers can reduce consumption volumes and when applicable, reuse the materials of which they are composed. As an organization we are on the path where we can declare that our production processes will be sustainable over time and today we are able to offer materials with sustainable characteristics.

 According to the Greenpeace report published in 2018, Colombia generates about 12 million tons of solid waste per year and only recycles 17%, this means that the remaining percentage ends up in landfills and a little more regrettable in rivers, being evidence of this that two of the most important rivers in the country, the Magdalena and the Amazon are part of top 20 of the most polluted rivers in the world, this without leaving aside that currently according to the DNP (National Planning Department) Colombia is among the 40 countries that generate more greenhouse gases, something very worrying.

The world has changed, today the consumer is focused on being more aware of what he/she consumes, what we are sold and how companies produce.

Faced with this reality, a redirection in the strategic and mission objectives of industries to materialize a positive environmental and social impact is a must.

A cosmetic change, whether it is rethinking the mission, vision or its mega is considered an offense to the intelligence of the new generation of conscious consumers.

Let's be clear, being sustainable or sustainable must be fulfilled and cannot remain only in "green" advertising, one of these practices is known as Greenwashing, a definition used by consumers to demonstrate that companies are making bad sustainable practices by reporting features in their products where they indicate that they are environmentally friendly, when in fact they are not.

Greenwashing tends to be something similar to brand image whitewashing, to benefit from green marketing by increasing their sales and positioning themselves in the market, taking advantage of the environmental awareness of end consumers, which would tend to be similar to misleading advertising and which in Colombia is regulated by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.
